dewa : ARI TAMPUBOLON

NODES

INFO

Ari Tampubolon is an emerging artist working across filmmaking, performance, and writing. Her research impetus seeks to fixate a wandering gaze on the transmutations of pop culture. She is on her phone too much. She is often insincere. She is often too sincere.

Thematically, Ari’s work is grounded in institutional critique methodology, framing the institution as a site to excavate the underpinnings of social phenomena.

Ari is currently finishing her BA (Sociology) after completing her BFA (Honours) in 2021 at Monash University. She has one more class to go to clinch her second degree, will she make it? Or will the institution prevail once again? Tune in...

DEWA is an performance project by Ari Tampubolon dedicated to thwarting the testosterone-infused libidinal substrate of western capitalist #GirlBoss culture's hunger for production. DEWA serves as a transition archive for the work Ari has put into her body.
